A mind map is a schematic map of a website that helps structure information, reflect all sections of the site, and identify the relationships between its parts.
We create mind maps in FigJam (previously we used Miro). It’s convenient to have the maximum of project information collected within a single tool.
Mindmap example
Mind maps are suitable for any kind of project, from simple landing pages to large-scale products. They always give us and the client a complete picture of the task we are solving.
A full mind map is created after the conclusion of a contract with the client.
This is an expanded and more detailed version: it describes what each section of the site consists of and what elements are included in the blocks of each section. Based on such a mind map, you can already work on copywriting, as well as request missing information from the client.
A Proto-Proto is a mind map visualized using sequentially arranged blocks
Sometimes it is easier to perceive because it visually resembles the pages and blocks of the site. Proto-proto helps take a fresh look at the structure of the site and visualize the mind map. This often removes many unnecessary questions from the client.
Proto-proto example
On a Proto-Proto, we can place semantic accents and determine the sequence of blocks. This type of site structure helps not miss important functionality. It works well in large product projects.
