How we transfer: general

In an ideal world, we approve the concept, design all layouts with different resolutions, prepare a UI Kit, TOR for animations, and only then transfer everything entirely to the developers.

But in practice, deadlines often do not allow you to follow this path, and you have to transfer layouts in parts.

Transfer of layouts in parts

What is important to have ready with such a transfer: a fully finished one of the adaptive layouts (desktop 1440 or mobile 375, depending on priorities) and a UI Kit assembled for it.

While your layout is in constant refinement and changes, it is very important to highlight these changes to developers and report on finished blocks/pages not only with a message in the project chat.

There are several more options for how you can do this:

  • The fastest and easiest way is to put a red, yellow or green circle next to the finished blocks. Red means that the block is at the stage of approval and design development, yellow is an internal status when the designer has done something and wants approval from the art director, and green means that the block is ready and can be taken into development.

  • The «more serious» option, in addition to circles, is using captions with statuses and checklists. There are many widgets in Figma that can help with this. Checklists and Notes are good because there are 5 status options: New, Changes, Conditions, Update, Notes, which change the color and icon and look super clear.
